The October 1, 2018 report includes the following statistics:

The number of prisoners on death rows across the nation is 2,721, a decrease of 17 from the 2,738 reported on July 1, 2018. The convictions or death sentences of 242 have been reversed, pending retrial, resentencing, or completion of the appeals process, meaning 2,479 prisoners were facing active death sentences.
