Each out­come describes the cur­rent sta­tus of the defendant’s death war­rant. The main cat­e­gories for the out­comes of death war­rants are Active, Inactive, and Executed. Active The death war­rant for the defen­dant has been issued and an exe­cu­tion date has been set. 
InactiveThe defen­dant will not be exe­cut­ed on the sched­uled execution date. 
ExecutedThe defen­dant was exe­cut­ed by the state or juris­dic­tion in which they were serv­ing a death sentence.

On March 30, 2026, the Supreme Court of Florida denied the state’s motion to lift the stay, explain­ing that the ​“cir­cuit court con­tin­ues to have con­cur­rent juris­dic­tion to rule on motions relat­ed to DNA test­ing and suc­ces­sive claims filed by the peti­tion­er.” A sta­tus report on all pend­ing issues from the cir­cuit court is due to the Supreme Court of Florida by 5pm, April 2, 2026. 

On March 26, 2026, the Supreme Court of Florida ​“stayed pend­ing fur­ther order of this Court.” The Court allowed the State until 5pm Friday, March 27, 2026 to pro­vide a report address­ing the sta­tus of DNA testing.
